assassins on the playa

everyone know how to play assassin? let's play on the playa. let's play the extended version that can last all week. basically is this:

since we're a small group so far, everyone's fair game.
everyone walk around with those suction dart guns, or water guns.
when we spot each other ANYWHERE, the game is on.
at this juncture, we could just randomly have a shooting war anytimne we see each other, or we could play by the rules....but i forget once you're shot, if and how you can come back in the game.

this way, we can still generate ramdon what the hell-ness by spontaneously shootingat each other, and still go about our business otherwise. i'd say, though, that once you realize you're being shot at, you might do well to just drop everything and shoot back until one of you is hit.

    I actually know how to run proper Assassination Games. Free for all gets old fast. A secretly assigned assassination for a "Circle of Death" game can last a couple days. If people are willing, i'm willing to run it.

    Check out the old site I made for a game I made for my office. it was a dot.com I worked at, we all got canned before the first game started, but most of all the rules you need are found there.

      OK, Dak, If you know how to run one, then I'm in.

      I participated in these assasin games on four high-school ski trips. They were especially cool in the nature of the "kill" - rather than water guns, paint balls (not on my Playa coat!!!) or darts, you had to kill the person without ANYONE else knowing, by whispering or passing a note that read, "You're DEAD!". This might be good on the Playa, because I might not be able to work a water or dart gun into my cosstumes...

      It was great!! Rich kids went so far as to write "You're DEAD on lift tickets and $20 bills... I played 3 years in a row, and it was great until the last year when the organizers screwed up and 2 people ended up having to kill each other days before the others were eliminated...

      SO... if you know the magic formula, I propose that killing should be a secret. Rather than always being prepared for "gun fight", all that participants need to carry is a slip of paper with the name of their next target - HMMMM - Playa Name, Real Name??? - hmmmm - Now we all have to register an assasin identity... am I crazy, or is this too getting complicated?

      It could be really fun , but can we make it work without exposing the plan?

        yep, it's prety much the same game. subtly and secrecy makes it more exciting. You sort of get paranoid toooo. Having an 'actual' weapon adds an element to the game. PLUS, you are allowed to defend yourself. One of the big rules is when using weapons is that you can't have ANY witness. 'Killing' civilians and bystanders disqualifies you too. There is a lot of creative ways of 'killing'. Such as hiding a rubber snake in their sleeping bags. rigging 'explosives' on their art-cars or bikes. etc. etc. etc.

        Start spreading the word. I'll go and revise the site. maybe print out some rules. I hope I have the time to get this together. Let your friends know too.

        What'll I'll need are names, a mugshot & camp from everyone that's playing.

        Everyone needs to read the current rules and make suggestions for revision and clarification. I'm totally excited about this. I think we can pull this off.
