The Red Line Pub Crawl - Friday 28 Nov

In their infinite wisdom, the Los Angeles MTA has decided to keep the Red Line running until 3am on the weekends until the end of the year. We, the Party People of Los Angeles, will celebrate this sage decision while showing our support for public transportation AND supporting the local economy on the day after Thanksgiving. Because we all know the best way to give thanks is by getting plowed.

Here’s the deal:

We will meet at the Traxx bar at Union Station at 8pm (near the front entrance), to swill cocktails and stare upward in amazement at the beautiful Art Deco ceilings. Around 9pm we shall get ourselves hence to the Metro. Reecy recommends buying a day pass for $5 beforehand. A flask is recommended for subtle on-board consumption.

The full details of stop number two will be posted soon.

Our evening will conclude (or just really get started) on the Cahuenga strip, that bastion of shitty, shitty parking, and home to such fabulous bars as rock’n’roll favorites Tiny’s KO and the Burgundy Room, the electro stylings of the Beauty Bar and the perpetual Dia de los Muertos that is the Velvet Margarita.

When we’ve all been thrown out of Hollywood’s finest watering holes at 2am, we shall bask in the joy that is Not Driving One’s Drunk Ass Home as we return to the Hollywood and Vine metro stop. Bonus points for walking to a diner near your stop for some late-night chow.

A Dance, Anyone?

A flashdance by any othe rname is called RAID. Some kind of acronym for something about dancing. My friend and fellow dancer, Raime, dreamed this up of her own volition, comletely apart and seperate from our kicked bucket of a mobile dance party. Her post is below. Since we are utter professionals at this, i figured we could help her out with providing the RAID army. Anyone down?

Cheers
trisha

Ramie's Post:
It has been WAY too long since LA has seen some proper guerilla dance action. Its time to have our own Dance Dance Revolution. This is a call to action.
Here's what I am thinking. We'll start off easy. Short, spontaneous, mobile dance parties, staged in shopping malls, on street corners, wherever dancing does not usually occur, and perhaps some places where it does. I am thinking of starting out using 80's tunes, but I could be persuaded into other genres. We'll build up to some choreography....think Busby Berkley on acid, faux Fosse, and interpretive dance to cheesy Journey songs. Think of Michel Gondry's video to Daft Punk's "Around the World". No formal dance training required, in fact, having two left feet might be a plus!
and we'll call it....RAID. Random Acts of Irreverent Dance.
contact me if this is something that interests you.

assassins on the playa

everyone know how to play assassin? let's play on the playa. let's play the extended version that can last all week. basically is this:

since we're a small group so far, everyone's fair game.
everyone walk around with those suction dart guns, or water guns.
when we spot each other ANYWHERE, the game is on.
at this juncture, we could just randomly have a shooting war anytimne we see each other, or we could play by the rules....but i forget once you're shot, if and how you can come back in the game.

this way, we can still generate ramdon what the hell-ness by spontaneously shootingat each other, and still go about our business otherwise. i'd say, though, that once you realize you're being shot at, you might do well to just drop everything and shoot back until one of you is hit.
Ramones' Rock'n'Roll HS - Benefit/Screening - t'row night...

This Friday, July 8th, Indie 103.1 and Linda Ramone will be hosting a charity fundraiser at Hollywood Forever Cemetery in honor of the legendary Ramones. Hollywood Forever Cemetery is the final resting place for Johnny and Dee Dee Ramone so we see it only fit that we show their infamous movie, Rock N Roll High School, in their final resting place. We'll be showing the movie right next to Johnny Ramones larger than life bronze memorial statue (Dee Dee's didn't have a huge space next to it)! That's right, Indie will be showing Rock N Roll High School right next to where the two legends have been interred. Plus, there will be lots of VIP guests on hand to speak about the rock n roll legends and remember their legacy. Guests include Indie's own Rob Zombie, Lars Frederickson from Rancid, Mickey Leigh, Marky Ramone and Vincent Gallo and of course our host Linda Ramone! Rock N Roll High School director Alan Arkush will even be on hand with the original pink Cadillac from the movie. Gates open at 7:30p and the intros and movie will start at 9pm. Grab your blanket, some friends, some grub (you can bring your own food and drink into the cemetery) and enjoy this tribute fundraiser to the Ramones under the stars. Leave Sparky and any other pets you have at home and don't bring any big chairs that will block other fans views. There is a suggested $15 donation to be paid at the gate. All proceeds will benefit Lymphoma and Prostate Cancer Research. Hollywood Forever Cemetery is located at 6000 Santa Monica Blvd., Los Angeles, CA 90038. For more information please call 323-469-1181.

Inaugural Meeting & Crash-Test of the LA Bar Association

Inaugural Meeting & Crash-Test of the LA Bar Association

Friday May 13th, 8:00PM

Mr. T's Bowl
5621 1/2 No. Figueroa St.
Highland Park, CA 90042

Come collaborate & conspire with us this Friday on the test run of our debut event set for early June.

Meet us outside the parking lot entrance of Mr.T's Bowl in costume. Any costume. 8PM sharp. Those not in costume will be ignored and rejected. They will be ejected and ditched. They will be left out in the rain and shoved into the gutter. They will put out to pasture and left for dead. I'm sure you get it.

Are you feeling a bit mischievious? Are you an instigator of trouble? Have you been considered a rabblerouser or a hellraiser? Ever been mistaken for an escapee of a mental institution? Are you out of step with the world? Do you aspire to do some something outrageous, just because? We're looking for folks willing to do things, uh I dunno, stuff.

Join us and some ex-conformists because we are gonna start something and you'll want to be part of it.

Please Invite your friends

Try to keep your invites to people that you think will be dedicated and WILL DO.

This tribe is private because the planning is best done on a small scale. And this tribe is for planning. I don't want it to run away and become like the Cacaphony Society, Pranks! or any of the other OPEN tribes where it becomes nothing but a list of ideas, and nothng gets DONE.

I believe that one of the keys to make our group successful is for everyone to support whatever is currently in the works. Even if you don't think it's a 'great' idea, it shouldn't matter. Give it 100% support, as if it was your idea. Once you gain some trust and prove your commitment to an other's vision, she will in-turn support you and commit to your idea. We're a support group for stupid ideas.
